Speaking at the Vidhana Soudha, Ashok expressed serious concerns about crowd management and safety measures during IPL matches in the state. He referred to a previous incident in which a stampede during an IPL-related event resulted in the deaths of 11 people, describing it as a tragic consequence of administrative negligence and lack of proper planning. Ashok alleged that the state government and concerned officials failed to ensure adequate safety protocols during the earlier incident. He stressed that such lapses must not be repeated and called for comprehensive arrangements to manage large crowds expected at upcoming matches. He further warned that the government would be held directly responsible if any untoward incident occurs in the future.
