Bellary
India’s top kabaddi stars have gathered in Bellary to begin a high-energy training camp aimed at gold. The Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, alongside Mashal Sports, launched this special week-long program at the Inspire Institute of Sport. Running until April 2, the camp focuses on building the ultimate physical foundation for the upcoming 2026 Asian Games.
This isn’t just a standard practice session; it is a scientific deep dive into player performance. Around 45 elite men and 45 top women athletes are participating, all fighting for a spot on the final national squad. Big names like Pawan Sehrawat, Naveen Kumar, and Arjun Deshwal are already on the mat, while women’s star Ritu Negi is leading the charge for the female contingency.
Federation President Vibhor Vineet Jain emphasized that this camp is a vital step in modernizing the sport. By using advanced fitness methods and professional coaching, India aims to raise its game to a global standard. It is about turning skilled players into world-class athletes who can handle the intense pressure of international competition.
Anupam Goswami from Mashal Sports noted that this training will benefit the players far beyond the Asian Games. The strength and conditioning gains will also help them shine in the Pro Kabaddi League. As the players sweat through rigorous drills, the goal remains clear: to build a powerhouse Indian team that is faster, stronger, and more prepared than ever before to bring home the glory later this year.
