District Collector Harshal Bhoyer has dismissed rumours regarding a shortage of petrol, diesel and LPG cylinders in the district, assuring the public that adequate supplies are available. The clarification comes in the wake of panic among residents, who thronged petrol bunks and LPG agencies following the spread of false information, particularly in Shahapur taluk.
To assess the situation, the Deputy Commissioner personally inspected several fuel stations and LPG godowns. After the visit, he stated that there is no shortage of essential fuels and that LPG cylinders are being supplied regularly to households.
He urged citizens not to panic or fall prey to rumours and issued strict guidelines:
Avoid filling petrol or diesel in bottles or unauthorized containers
Hoarding fuel at home is strictly prohibited
Black marketing of fuel or LPG cylinders is illegal and will invite action
Supply of essential fuels will continue without disruption
The DC appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the administration, adding that officials are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any artificial scarcity or misuse.
