Officials have been directed to give top priority to providing house sites for landless nomadic families across the district.

Chairing a review meeting, Pallavi, head of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Nomadic Development Corporation, said many nomadic families are still waiting for basic housing support. She instructed Social Welfare officers, Tahsildars, and local officials to identify such families and act quickly.

She noted complaints from Gondichatnahalli, where landless nomads are yet to receive sites despite repeated requests. She warned that their needs must not be ignored. A fund of Rs. 100 crore is available to support housing for about 3,300 families, and officials must ensure its proper use.

Pallavi also asked officials to submit a taluk-wise list of landless nomadic families within a week. She stressed the need to provide basic documents like Aadhaar, caste certificates, and ration cards, which many families lack.

She said schemes for 2025-26 must reach beneficiaries on time. If applicants fail to submit documents within a month, others should be given a chance. She also highlighted the importance of education and asked officials to ensure reservation benefits for nomadic students are properly implemented.

Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti directed officials to provide complete data and ensure timely delivery of benefits. He said affected families can approach him directly with complaints.

Officials and community members attended the meeting and raised several local issues.
