No Shortage of Petrol and Diesel Supply, Says SP Gunjan Arya

Dharwad
Superintendent of Police Gunjan Arya has assured residents that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in Dharwad, urging the public not to panic or believe in rumours circulating about fuel scarcity. Addressing concerns among citizens, SP Gunjan Arya clarified that fuel supply in the city remains stable and uninterrupted. The statement comes in the wake of widespread rumours suggesting a possible shortage of petrol and diesel, which had led to confusion and panic among residents.

Arya emphasised that all petrol pumps in Dharwad are functioning normally and have adequate stock to meet public demand. She stated that there is no need for panic buying, as such behaviour could unnecessarily disrupt the supply chain and create temporary shortages at fuel stations.

The police department has also been actively monitoring the situation, particularly focusing on the spread of misinformation through social media platforms. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against individuals who spread false rumours intended to create fear or exploit the situation.

Officials further assured that necessary coordination is being maintained with fuel suppliers and distributors to ensure smooth and continuous availability. Steps have also been taken to prevent hoarding or black marketing of petrol and diesel in the city.

SP Arya appealed to citizens to remain calm and rely only on official information released by the administration. She also encouraged people to report any suspicious activities, such as overpricing or hoarding, to the authorities immediately.

The clarification from the police comes as a relief to many residents, especially after recent misinformation led to long queues at some fuel stations. Authorities reiterated that there is sufficient supply and that the situation is completely under control.
