Middle East conflict may hit India’s fertiliser output

New Delhi
India’s fertiliser production may fall by 10 to 15 per cent if Middle East tensions continue. Supply disruptions could reduce availability of key raw materials like gas and ammonia. This may lower production and affect company profits. Rising costs may also increase the government subsidy burden by Rs 20,000 to 25,000 crore. However, strong financial support and timely subsidies may help companies manage the impact. India depends heavily on imports, especially from the Middle East, making the sector vulnerable during global conflicts and supply uncertainties.
