India Data Centre capacity to surge by 2030: Report

New Delhi
India’s data centre sector is set to reach 4 GW capacity by FY30, backed by an estimated investment of Rs 1.5 lakh crore, a report by CareEdge Ratings said. Between FY22 and FY25, co-location capacity doubled to 1.2 GW, and tenants are expected to spend nearly double on IT equipment. Strong demand from cloud providers, enterprises, and BFSI sectors, along with lower costs and long-term contracts, support growth. AI-driven workloads will drive future expansion, but rising costs, power infrastructure needs, and project delays remain key operational challenges for the industry.
