LPG supplies fully secure: Govt

NEW DELHI

The Indian government stepped in to calm public fears, officially confirming that there are no changes to the rules for booking LPG cylinder refills.

In a clear message from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, officials dismissed recent rumors of new restrictions as completely misleading and urged citizens to ignore false information.

Under the current system, families in cities can book a refill every 25 days, while those in rural areas can do so every 45 days. These timelines apply to everyone, including those under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The Ministry highlighted that there is absolutely no reason for “panic booking,” as the nation has more than enough stock to meet everyone’s needs.

To back this up, state-owned companies like BPCL reminded the public that India actually exports more petrol and diesel than it uses. Domestic refineries are working at high speeds, and ships carrying fresh supplies of crude oil and cooking gas have been arriving safely from around the world. Even with tensions rising in other parts of the globe, the government has created special expert groups to monitor oil, gas, and food supplies to prevent any price spikes or shortages.

The main message to the public is simple: stay calm and stick to your regular buying habits. Officials are working behind the scenes to ensure that every kitchen across the country stays running without interruption. By following official news rather than rumors, citizens can help keep the supply chain smooth and steady for everyone.
