India’s infrastructure sector is seeing a major transformation as public investment rises from Rs 2 lakh crore in FY15 to Rs 12.2 lakh crore for FY27. The surge has attracted private funding, boosted steel and cement demand, and created jobs. Blended financing, combining government funds, institutional capital, and market instruments, has positioned India as South Asia’s top private infrastructure destination. Platforms like NIIF, REITs, and InvITs mobilized billions, enabling global and retail participation. NABFID’s long-term financing and innovative trusts rotated capital into new projects, supporting sustainable growth and modern infrastructure nationwide.
