India-Taiwan trade sees strong growth surge

New Delhi

Trade between India and Taiwan grew by 17 percent in 2025, reaching $12.5 billion, according to official data. This marks a strong rise compared to the previous year and shows improving economic ties between the two sides.

India exported goods worth $3.3 billion, including fuels, metals, chemicals, and plastics. In return, Taiwan sent goods worth $9.2 billion, mainly electronic parts, machinery, and steel products.

Speaking at a business event, Estela Chen from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center said Taiwan is known for its strength in semiconductors and advanced technology. She added that both sides are working closely in areas like electronics, automobiles, and information technology. More than 300 Taiwanese companies are now active in India. Experts believe there is still huge potential for further growth, especially when compared to Taiwan’s trade with larger global economies.
