Rangayana announces summer theatre camp for children

To encourage creativity and cultural awareness among children, Kalaburagi Rangayana will organize a summer theatre training camp titled “Makkala Habba-2026” from April 7 to May 8.

Announcing the program at a press conference in the city, Rangayana Director Sujatha Jangamshetty said the camp aims to introduce young participants to theatre culture and help them develop confidence and artistic skills. Children between the ages of five and sixteen are eligible to participate.

She explained that the camp will admit only 150 children. The application fee is Rs.100 and the participation fee is Rs.2,000. Interested parents must submit applications before April 5.

According to the organizers, the camp will focus on various creative activities designed to build personality and communication skills. Children will receive basic training in drama and learn about folk art traditions. They will also take part in storytelling, poetry recitation, singing, literature writing, and handicraft making.

The program will also include interactions with experts from different fields and screenings of selected short films made especially for children. Organizers plan to take participants on educational visits to important cultural locations.

At the end of the camp, children will present cultural performances showcasing the skills they have learned during the training. Camp coordinator Rajkumar S.K. and Rangayana administrator Sidram Sindhe attended the press conference and invited parents to enroll their children.
