Popular actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty, best known for the film Kantara, lives in a beautiful coastal mansion in Kundapura, Karnataka. The property, reportedly worth around Rs 12 crore, stands amid green landscapes and is located close to the famous Maravanthe Beach along the Arabian Sea. The house originally belonged to Shetty’s great-grand-uncle and has been carefully restored while preserving the family’s traditional style.
Visitors entering the mansion are welcomed by wide laterite steps and large Burma-teak doors that highlight coastal architecture. A brass temple bell hangs near the entrance adding a spiritual touch. At the centre of the home is a skylit atrium where a massive granite tulasi katta weighing about 300 kilograms stands proudly. The space is decorated with Yakshagana headgear and film memorabilia and meaningful props from Shetty’s life and career. Among them are a rifle prop used in Kantara and a cricket bat signed by Yuvraj Singh. These items quietly tell the story of the actor’s journey from coastal Karnataka to national fame.
The mansion also includes several creative spaces. One of the most unusual is the Rain Room designed with glass walls and a simulated rainfall atmosphere. Shetty often uses this quiet setting to think about stories and write film scripts. The house further features a private screening room with comfortable Italian leather recliners facing a large 150-inch retractable screen supported by Dolby Atmos sound system.
The projector in the room has been playfully named Seleyaraya after the forest spirit from Kantara. Outside the house a garage holds several vehicles including an Audi Q7, Mahindra Thar, Jeep Compass and a Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle. Interestingly their horns are tuned to local folk music. Close to the residence stands Shetty’s production facility set up in a renovated rice mill where new film projects are developed.
