A one-day awareness workshop was held for final-year graduate students in Chikkaballapur to encourage entrepreneurship under the RAMP scheme, organized by the Karnataka Government Industries and Commerce Department, District Industrial Centre, and Government First Grade College. The event took place at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium on Wednesday.
Prof. R. Vasundhara, Principal of the college, inaugurated the workshop and urged students to explore financial, technical, and mentoring support available under various incubation programs. She highlighted opportunities for students to connect with experts, officials, and entrepreneurs to turn innovative ideas into successful startups.
Venkatakrishna, Manager of the Lead Bank, informed students about financial assistance for MSME entrepreneurs and encouraged them to make use of these resources to create employment opportunities. Joint Director of the District Industries Center K. Shivalingaiah explained that the incubation program under the RAMP scheme provides a platform for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship for final-year students. He detailed various government schemes for setting up businesses and motivated students to utilize these facilities effectively.
The workshop also focused on providing guidance about incubation facilities, networking opportunities, and strategies to develop practical business skills. Participants included Deputy Director (Grakai) of the District Industrial Center Timukunda, Political Science Department Coordinator Dr. Venkatesh, IIQAC Convener Dr. P. Sunitha, librarian Dr. Ningaiah Patil, and subject expert Sharath Babu.
Students appreciated the workshop, stating that it gave them clarity on government support, financial schemes, and practical steps needed to launch startups. Officials emphasized that such programs can inspire youth to become successful entrepreneurs and contribute to local employment and economic growth.
