Darshan, a young man from Chikka Mandya, fell from his bike on February 22. At first, the injury seemed minor and he returned home. Later, his condition worsened and he was rushed to hospital. Doctors found severe internal brain bleeding and shifted him to Victoria Hospital for advanced treatment.
Despite continuous care and several tests, he showed no improvement. After two days, a senior medical board declared him brain dead. Counselors from the Jeevasaarthakate organ donation team spoke to the family and explained how his organs could save others.
