State Minister H.K. Patil said the Pancha Guarantee Scheme has brought revolutionary changes to the lives of poor families in Karnataka, lifting many out of poverty since independence. He spoke after inaugurating the Guarantee Workshop and Festival at Swami Vivekananda Sabha Bhavan in Gadag on Wednesday.
The ambitious scheme provides Rs 5,000 per month to eligible families. In Gadag district alone, 2.28 lakh families have benefited, with over ₹1.10 crore distributed directly. Patil highlighted that the government has ensured delivery without corruption and aims to make these guarantees a fundamental human right.
Survey data shows strong satisfaction among beneficiaries: 93% under Annabhagya Yojana, 86% under Grihajyoti Yojana, 95.4% under Grihalakshmi Yojana, and 86% under Shakti Yojana report improved self-sufficiency. He urged officials to identify any excluded beneficiaries and ensure they also receive benefits.
Officials including H.M. Revanna, Chairman of the State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority, and S.R. Patil, Vice Chairman, emphasized that the schemes strengthen the social and economic status of women and families. Programs like Shakti Yojana have enabled over six hundred crore free travels for women, and Grihalakshmi Yojana has made 1.28 crore women financially independent.
The Minister stressed that Pancha Guarantee has increased per capita income, generated savings of ₹4,000–5,000 per family per month, and created more employment opportunities. Experts have praised the scheme, and district authorities are holding regular committee meetings to monitor implementation.
The event included cultural programs, release of a study report on the scheme in Gadag district, and participation of dignitaries, leaders, and beneficiaries. Folk songs celebrating the Pancha Guarantee were performed, highlighting its impact on the community.
