Christian Group Objects To Yash Film Toxic Teaser

The teaser of Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups has landed in fresh trouble after a Christian organisation raised objections. According to reports, the National Christian Federation has filed a formal complaint, saying some visuals in the teaser hurt the sentiments of the Christian community.

The group has claimed that the teaser shows Christianity in a negative way. In its complaint, it pointed to scenes where Saint Michael the Archangel is shown in what it called a disrespectful manner. The organisation said Saint Michael is a holy and respected figure, and such portrayal is unacceptable.

The group also described certain visuals in the teaser as objectionable and obscene. It said these scenes appear close to images of angels, which makes them more offensive. The complaint has been sent to the Film Chamber of Commerce, the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary, and the Central Board of Film Certification. The federation’s president, Pradeep Kumar, filed the complaint.

The organisation has demanded that the makers remove the scenes from the teaser and delete them from YouTube and other online platforms. It has also asked the film’s team to issue a public apology to the Christian community. The group warned that it would take legal action if the content is not removed.

Earlier, a women’s wing of a political party had also filed a complaint, claiming the teaser contained obscene visuals. Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic is now facing increasing pressure ahead of its release.
