Preparations for GBA polls after discussing with JD(S): BYV

Blurb: ‘Deve Gowda has expressed his opinion on the alliance. I have also spoken about it. The decision will be taken as per the advice of the national leaders’

BENGALURU

It has been decided to prepare for the Greater Bangalore Authority (GBA) municipal elections after discussing with the JDS and seeking their opinion, said BJP state President BY Vijayendra.

A special meeting was held at the BJP state office regarding the GBA elections. Speaking later, BY Vijayendra, responding to the JDS alliance issue, clarified, A senior BJP leader team will be formed to discuss with the JDS and a decision will be taken. It will not be a big problem. We will not talk about this in front of the media. Deve Gowda has expressed his opinion on the alliance. I have also spoken about it. The decision will be taken as per the advice of the national leaders.

We will win no matter when the GBA elections are held. Despite the tactics and machinations of the Congress party, there is a good chance that the BJP will win in 5 GBAs as well. Therefore, the candidate selection process should also begin soon. A separate meeting of the 5 GBAs should be called on Feb. 28 and March 1. All the senior leaders of our party will be present in that meeting. The opinions and advice of our workers locally will be sought. We have discussed the candidate selection process and taken an important decision to move forward, he said.

The meeting was attended by GBA Election In-charge Ram Madhav, Co-In-charges Satish Poonia, Sanjay Upadhyay, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R Ashoka, BJP State President BY Vijayendra, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, District Presidents, former Ministers, former BBMP members and party leaders.

Bengaluru, the Garden City, has now turned into a garbage city. It is debatable whether the in-charge minister or the Congress government has not given priority to Bengaluru in terms of development. Bengaluru is famous not only in India but also in the world. Therefore, this needs to be considered very seriously, he said.
