RAICHUR

The government is organizing more job fairs to reduce unemployment in the state, said Minor Irrigation and Science and Technology Minister N.S. Bhosaraju. He was speaking at the inauguration of a job fair held at the Agricultural University campus in Raichur, organized jointly by the Skill Development Department, Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Organization, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, and District Skill Mission as part of the Ededore Nadu Raichur Festival.

The Youth Guarantee Scheme is being implemented to provide unemployment allowance and support skill development. Minister Bhosaraju urged young people to take advantage of such opportunities to secure good jobs. MP G. Kumaranayak emphasized that India’s youth are a valuable resource, but skill-based training is essential for future employment. He warned that without proper skills, job opportunities would be limited.

Karnataka Scheduled Castes Development Corporation Chairman and Raichur Rural MLA Basanagouda Daddal said a textile park is being planned on 4,000 acres under KIADB, which is expected to generate over 10,000 jobs. He added that establishing small and medium industries in the district will create additional employment opportunities.

Over 63 companies from sectors like automobile, mechanical, construction, marketing, sales, retail, telecom, BPO, textile, banking, finance, insurance, hospital, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, transport, food processing, hotel management, garments, and security participated in the fair. More than 10,000 candidates registered, and by Friday afternoon, over 1,200 youth attended, applying based on their SSC, PUC, diploma, degree, and post-graduate qualifications. Many received appointment letters on the spot.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Ishwara Kumar Kandu, Deputy Secretary Halasiddappa Pujeri, Chief Project Officer Dr. T. Roni, Employment Officer Naveen Kumar, and other officials were present. Programs like these aim to connect skilled youth with employment opportunities, reduce unemployment, and strengthen the local economy.
