Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rishi Anand visited Kakhandaki and Karajola Gram Panchayats in Babaleshwar taluk and inspected several development works on Tuesday. He later held a progress review meeting of Babaleshwar and Tikota taluks at the Babaleshwar Taluk Panchayat office.
During the meeting, he reviewed key issues such as e-attendance, NREGA works, housing schemes, Swachh Bharat Mission activities, e-khata records, libraries, and tax collection. He said Panchayat Development Officers play an important role in village growth and must work with dedication to achieve better results.
He instructed all officers and staff to attend offices on time and mark attendance through the e-attendance system. Library tax must be paid within the set deadline. Salaries of Gram Panchayat staff should be released without delay. Wage labourers must be given continuous employment during the summer under government schemes.
He appreciated Babaleshwar for good tax collection last year and asked officials to maintain the same progress this year. He also directed that cleanliness drives be held regularly, especially on second and third Saturdays, in Anganwadis, schools, health centres, and with help from self-help groups and the public.
Rishi Anand visited the Primary Health Centre in Kakhandaki and stressed maintaining hygiene and treating patients with care and patience. He later inspected the Dr B R Ambedkar hostel, checking food quality, drinking water, kitchen, and sanitation. He encouraged students to study well and make good use of hostel facilities. In Karajola, he inspected the new Gram Panchayat building, Kalyani, and warehouse. Taluk and gram panchayat officials were present. He urged teamwork and timely reporting to improve rural services.
