Riyadh
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held a key meeting with Saudi Minister of State and National Security Adviser Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban on Wednesday in Riyadh. The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation, regional issues, and other shared interests.
Doval, who arrived in Riyadh on Tuesday, was welcomed by India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, and Saudi Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, Dr. Saud Al-Sati. His visit underscores the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting comes after Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the January terror attacks in Pahalgam and near the Red Fort. During the 3rd India-Saudi Arabia Security Working Group meeting on January 28, both nations reaffirmed their opposition to terrorism, including cross-border attacks and threats against civilians.
The two sides reviewed ongoing security cooperation and exchanged views on countering extremism, radicalization, terrorist financing, and transnational organized crime. They also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral legal, judicial, and law enforcement collaboration.
Officials said the next Security Working Group meeting will be held in India at a mutually convenient date. Earlier, Indian officials met resident Arab Ambassadors to assess ongoing cooperation and prepare for future strategic and sectoral partnerships, ensuring stronger regional ties and mutual security interests.
Doval’s visit highlights India and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing security coordination, counter-terrorism efforts, and long-term strategic collaboration in the region, reinforcing their mutual resolve against emerging threats.
