Vidya Spurthi International Academy, located at Lakshmidevi Nagar in Laggere, celebrated its grand school anniversary Anubhav-2026 with an emphasis on values, relationships and holistic development of children.
Inaugurating the programme, BK Ravi expressed concern over the declining value of relationships in the lives of today’s children. He observed that excessive use of mobile phones has increasingly turned into an addiction, affecting children’s emotional and social growth. Advising parents, he said academic marks alone should not be the sole measure of a child’s progress. “Parents must also pay attention to sports, cultural activities, artistic talents and other interests of their children,” he said.
Ravi stressed that every child has hidden talents and it is the responsibility of parents to identify, nurture and encourage them. He added that balanced development would help children grow into confident and responsible individuals.
Founder-President of the school, D Umashankar, highlighted the importance of imparting value-based education. He said children must be taught the values of the land, the nation, language, culture and brotherhood from a young age. “Our teachers work with dedication to instil patriotic feelings and moral values in students,” he said.
Umashankar also noted that value-based education helps children respect elders, develop discipline and grow into good citizens who contribute positively to society.
The celebration was marked by colourful cultural programmes, with students entertaining the audience through dance performances in a variety of costumes, drawing loud applause from parents and guests.
Former Municipal Corporation member Thimmaraju, CEO O Varun Kumar, Administrative Officer T Ramachandra, Principal Dr S Dilip Kumar, teachers, parents and students were present on the occasion, making the anniversary celebration a memorable and meaningful event.
