A district-level festival highlighting the state government’s five guarantee schemes will be held in Koppal in February, said Reddy Srinivas, Chairman of the District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority.
He spoke during a progress review meeting at J.H. Patel Hall in the Zilla Panchayat office on Thursday. The festival is planned at Madhusree Garden on Hospet Road in Koppal city, where beneficiaries of various schemes will be honoured.
Srinivas said people who have benefited from the Grihalakshmi, Grihaljyothi, Shakti, Annabhagya, and Yuvanidhi schemes should be invited in large numbers. Officials from departments linked to these schemes were told to make proper arrangements to ensure the event runs smoothly.
He stressed that committee chairpersons and members from all taluks must take responsibility and work together to make the festival successful. The schemes, he said, are helping poor and middle-class families improve their financial stability. The event will also provide clear information about eligibility, benefits, application steps, and the present status of each scheme.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi said beneficiaries under Yuvanidhi should be given skill training through the Yuvanidhi Plus programme to improve their job opportunities. He clarified that attending this training will not affect their unemployment allowance.
Vice President Manjunath G. Gondabala suggested setting up five help stalls at the venue with laptops and staff to guide people. Food department officials were asked to spread awareness about Annabhagya benefits, especially among senior citizens.
Officials from different departments shared updates on the district’s progress under all five guarantee schemes during the meeting.
