Flower expo on Tejaswi’s life earns Rs 2.85 cr

The flower exhibition, which was held at the Lalbagh Glass House from January 15 on the occasion of Republic Day, was opened on Monday and was viewed by a total of 8.10 lakh people, including children.

Officials from the Horticulture Department have informed that a total of Rs 2.74 crore has been collected, including Rs 2.46 lakh from entry to Lalbagh to view the flower exhibition and Rs 28 lakh from various stalls set up at the exhibition.

Viewed by 2.93 lakh children: The Phalapushpa exhibition on Tejaswi’s life was viewed by 85 thousand children, including 2.08 lakh school children, and 2.93 lakh children viewed the exhibition, thereby making an effort to develop children’s awareness of Kannada literature and scientific thinking.

13 thousand books sold: Tejaswi, who was also a scientific writer, has written many books. The novel Karvolo, written on the back of a flying fox, has a scientific basis. The books Abachurina Post Office, Tabarana Kathe and Kirugurin Gayyaaligalu have been made into films. Thousands of Kannada literature lovers and film lovers had come to the exhibition on Tejaswi. As a result, his books were sold at the exhibition.

More than 3200 copies of Tejaswi’s science fiction novel Karvolo have been sold in a single book, and it was out of stock for the last two days. Many people returned home empty-handed after reading the Karvolo book, Dr. M. Jagadish, Additional Director, Horticulture Department, informed ETV India.

2 tons of garbage collected : A complete ban was imposed on the use of plastic in the current season’s flower show. Paper bags, banana leaves, and areca strips were also used in the stalls. Due to this, only organic waste was found in the park, and more than 2 tons of waste was collected. He explained that if this waste is mixed with soil, it will be converted into fertilizer and can be used in the park.
