RAMANAGARA
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy launched a scathing attack on Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and his brother DK Suresh in Ramanagara on Sunday.
He said, “DK Shi may say something to you, I will tell you he is a talker to us. Yes, I am a talker. He is a looter to him. No power is permanent. No one can drive me away from Ramanagara.” He adding that his aims is to bring a “real Ramrajya” by 2028, emphasizing the importance of people’s government over personal power.
Addressing comparisons with DK Shivakumar, Kumaraswamy said he has never earned a living by breaking rocks or grabbing land, highlighting the contrast between himself and his political rivals.
He dismissed CM Siddaramaiah’s past claim that JD(S) would never come to power, pointing out that despite such statements in 2018, his party continues to fight for public support.
Kumaraswamy also indicated his continued connection with Ramanagara, calling the district his home. He hinted at contesting from the area, saying his visit to Mandya was due to pressure from people there, but his final political struggles and service will be in Ramanagara.
His remarks came amid a tense political environment in Karnataka, with speculation growing about electoral battles in the upcoming 2028 assembly elections. HDK stressed that his focus remains on building a government that serves the people rather than personal ambitions.
HDK vows to protect farmers’ land in Bidadi
Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy expressed strong support for farmers’ agitation against land acquisition in Bidadi. Speaking at an indefinite protest attended by villagers from Bhairamangala and Kanchuganahalli, he vowed not to allow even an inch of fertile agricultural land to be taken illegally. Moved to tears by women pleading to save their land, Kumaraswamy said, “Governments come and go, but people are eternal. I am with you. We will not break our unity.” He criticized officials and state leaders for undervaluing farmers’ land and warned that betrayal will not go unpunished. Farmers and local leaders joined the protest.
