Mallikarjun urged officials and leaders to attend a meeting reviewing fund distribution, delays, and grievances in welfare schemes
CHITRADURGA
The Chairman and members of the Karnataka State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will visit Chitradurga district on January 21 to review ongoing programs and discuss local issues, officials said on Friday.
Dr. L. Murthy, Chairman of the Commission, along with nominated members Sunil M. Ukkali, M. Kumbaiah, and Secretary Dr. H.N. Shivaramu, will lead the district tour. The visit aims to identify gaps, assess progress, and address grievances related to government schemes for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The program will begin with a meeting with community leaders from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. This will be followed by a progress review session with district-level officers from 12.30 p.m. to 2.15 p.m. The visit will conclude with a press conference at 2.15 p.m. to share observations and updates with the public.
Mallikarjun, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, urged elected representatives, organization leaders, and district officials to attend. The meeting will review the proper distribution of funds across government departments, identify delays, and discuss other grievances under the department’s various welfare schemes.
Officials said the tour is expected to strengthen coordination between the Commission, local authorities, and community leaders while ensuring timely implementation of welfare programs for the benefit of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the district.
