Culture Awareness Event

Preparations are underway to celebrate Madiwala Machideva Jayanti on February 1 in a simple yet meaningful manner, officials said on Friday. The event will be organized jointly by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department, and Chitradurga Municipal Corporation.
Deputy Divisional Officer Venkatesh Naik, presiding over a preliminary planning meeting at the Sub-Divisional Officer’s office hall, said the Jayanti aims to honor the life and teachings of Madiwala Machideva while promoting cultural awareness among residents.
The program will begin at 11 a.m. at the District Collector’s office hall. Dr. Prof. Mahantesh will deliver a special lecture on Madiwala Machideva, highlighting his contributions and legacy. Artists from the Kannada and Culture Department will perform vachana singing, followed by the national anthem. Naik confirmed that all district elected representatives will be invited to attend as per protocol.
The planning meeting was attended by Dr. B.M. Gurunath, Assistant Director of the Kannada and Culture Department; Ramanna, President of District Madiwala Machideva Sangha; Honorary President Lakshman; leaders Manjunath, Rudresh, Rangaswamy, Prakash; and various department officials.
Officials said the celebrations are intended to be meaningful, educational, and culturally enriching, encouraging community participation while paying tribute to the teachings and legacy of Madiwala Machideva.
