Devpt projects worth ₹4,586 Lakh to be inaugurated in Gadag

These initiatives aim to offer quality education, secure housing, and equal opportunities for minority students, creating long-term improvements in Gadag’s educational landscape

In a major move to strengthen education and housing for minorities, Gadag district will see the groundbreaking and public dedication of development projects worth ₹4,586 lakh on Saturday (today). The programs, organized by the Minority Welfare Department, will be led by Housing, Minority Welfare and Waqf Minister B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan, Legislation and Tourism Minister Dr. H.K. Patil.

The Karnataka Maulana Azad Public School (English Medium) in Gangimadi will witness the inauguration of newly completed facilities costing ₹235 lakh. Additionally, ₹142 lakh has been allocated for constructing extra classrooms at the same school. The Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation (KRIDL) is implementing these projects, with the inauguration scheduled at 3:30 pm.

A student hostel in Betageri, built at a cost of ₹1,209 lakh, will be dedicated to the public at 1 pm, providing safe and secure accommodation for minority students. Girls’ Morarji Desai Residential School in Harthi village will be inaugurated at ₹1,000 lakh, while the groundbreaking for a new Navodaya-model Morarji Desai Residential School at ₹2,000 lakh will also take place at 4:30 pm, implemented by the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB).

The events will be attended by senior political leaders and officials, including Legislative Council MLA and Government Chief Whip Salim Ahmed, Haveri MP and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Karnataka State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman G.S. Patil, and other MLAs, local authorities, and district officials. Secretaries from the Planning, Programmes, Coordination and Statistics Department, Regional Commissioner Janaki K.M., Deputy Commissioner C.N. Sridhar, and District Superintendent of Police Rohan Jagadish will also be present.

These developments are expected to significantly uplift the welfare and prospects of minority students in Gadag district.
