G. Prabhu Takes Charge as New District Commissioner

G. Prabhu assumed charge as the new District Commissioner of Chikkaballapur on Thursday at the District Commissioner’s Office located in the District Administration Building. The formal handover took place on January 1, signifying a smooth transition in the district’s top administrative leadership.
The immediate past District Commissioner, P.N. Ravindra, officially handed over charge to G. Prabhu and extended his best wishes by presenting a bouquet of flowers. In a gesture of mutual respect, the newly appointed District Commissioner reciprocated by offering a bouquet to the outgoing officer and accorded him a ceremonial welcome, acknowledging his service to the district.
Before assuming charge in Chikkaballapur, G. Prabhu had served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Tumkur Zilla Panchayat, where he was involved in overseeing rural development programmes and administrative initiatives. His experience in district-level governance is expected to contribute to effective administration and development-focused governance in Chikkaballapur.
On the occasion, Dr. N. Bhaskar, Additional District Commissioner, along with officers and staff from various government departments, welcomed the new District Commissioner and conveyed their best wishes for his tenure. Senior officials expressed confidence that G. Prabhu’s leadership would strengthen coordination among departments and improve service delivery to the public.
Speaking informally after assuming office, officials said the new District Commissioner is expected to prioritise development works, effective implementation of government schemes, and responsive administration. The change in leadership comes at a time when the district is focusing on infrastructure development, public welfare programmes, and efficient governance.
The assumption of charge by G. Prabhu marks the beginning of a new phase for the Chikkaballapur district administration, with expectations of continuity, efficiency, and people-centric governance.
