Maruti Suzuki capped 2025 with record vehicle exports, underscoring India’s growing manufacturing strength and global automotive footprint.
Mumbai
India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, on Thursday announced that it exported 3.95 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking the highest-ever export performance in its history. The achievement represents a robust growth of over 21 per cent compared to 2024, reaffirming the company’s leadership in India’s passenger vehicle export segment.
Describing the milestone as a moment of pride, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the record performance reflects the strength of India’s manufacturing ecosystem and the growing trust of customers across global markets. He noted that achieving such growth at a time when global trade is experiencing uncertainty highlights the resilience of the company’s operations and supply chains.
“At a time when global trade is passing through a turbulent phase, we regard this 21 per cent growth as a responsible contribution in supporting the nation’s export momentum,” Takeuchi said in the company’s statement. According to Maruti Suzuki, the latest performance positions it as India’s number one passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year, consolidating its dominance in overseas markets.
During 2025, the automaker exported as many as 18 different models to over 100 countries, covering regions across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. The year was also significant as it marked Maruti Suzuki’s entry into electric vehicle exports with the commencement of overseas shipments of Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA.
Following the flag-off of the BEV from Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in August, the company has already exported more than 13,000 units of the e VITARA to 29 countries. A majority of these exports have been directed towards European markets, signaling strong acceptance of India-made electric vehicles on the global stage.
The export milestone comes close on the heels of another major achievement for Maruti Suzuki. In November, the company announced that it had crossed the landmark of 3 crore cumulative car sales in the domestic market.
