Adani urges Indian youth to lead AI revolution

Adani emphasized building indigenous AI models for India’s security, investing in data centers, digital infrastructure, and clean energy

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Sunday called on India’s youth to take charge in the age of artificial intelligence, emphasising the need for talent, technology, and national purpose to move together. Speaking at the inauguration of Vidya Pratishthan’s Sharad Pawar Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE-AI) in Baramati, Maharashtra, he urged young Indians to become builders and leaders in AI, rather than passive users.

“India’s enduring strength lies in aligning people, institutions, and long-term vision. That clarity must now guide how our youth approach AI,” Adani said. He highlighted that technological shifts, from industrial revolutions to India’s digital transformation, have historically expanded human potential, and AI will further empower citizens from all backgrounds to contribute to growth.

Adani cautioned against relying on foreign AI models, stressing that data, decision-making, and capability must serve national interest. “Building indigenous AI models, strong compute capacity, and resilient intelligence ecosystems is essential for India’s economic security, cultural confidence, and strategic freedom,” he added. The Adani Group is investing heavily in data centres, digital infrastructure, and clean energy to support AI capabilities, collaborating with global technology leaders like Google and Microsoft.

The Baramati-based CoE-AI, established under Vidya Pratishthan with a Rs 25 crore contribution from Gautam Adani, aims to advance research, skill development, and industry-oriented training in AI. The centre will focus on applications in agriculture, healthcare, governance, and industry, fostering collaboration between academia and the private sector to make India a hub for AI-led growth.

Adani’s address underscored the vision of a generation of skilled Indian innovators leading the country’s AI future, combining technology expertise with national purpose to shape global competitiveness.
