BENGALURU
With the New Year just a few days away, the Bengaluru Police are on high alert across the city. The Bengaluru Police, who are on high alert after incidents like the Delhi bomb blast and the Goa pub tragedy, conducted a late night check across the city.
In order to prevent any untoward incidents during the New Year celebrations and to put a brake on illegal activities, suspicious vehicles were stopped and sudden inspections were conducted. They also visited pubs and restaurants to gather information about the preparations for the New Year celebrations and gave necessary instructions. Senior officers personally went and supervised the inspection work.
To prevent drug use and control illegal activities during the New Year celebrations, inspections have been conducted in various parts of the city. Information is being collected on what precautionary measures have been taken in pubs and restaurants, how many people are seated, and how preparations have been made to manage the crowd, said DCP of Bengaluru North Division BS Nemagowda.
