‘National-level opportunity should be fully utilised by youth’
Chikkaballapur
The nation’s youth receiving opportunities at the national level is truly commendable, and each participant must showcase their practical and technological abilities to the world, said Bhanu Chaitanya Verma, COO of Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology. He was speaking after inaugurating the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) – 2025 programme by lighting the lamp at the Nagarjuna Engineering and Technical College campus on Monday.
He noted that lakhs of young people across India participate in the Smart India Hackathon, and the institution is privileged to host 120 students from 11 states this year. This is a remarkable opportunity for engineering students. Everyone must make the best use of it. I thank the Ministry of Education and AICTE for placing their trust in us and offering this platform. The Nagarjuna institution will always remain committed to hosting such purposeful events, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. N. Ranjan, OS and Director, DRDO Headquarters, New Delhi, said SIH-2025 is a national programme aimed at strengthening India’s defence capability through innovation. No problem can be solved from a single dimension. Only a multidisciplinary approach can bring effective solutions. Some students excel in coding, while others have expertise in different technologies. When everyone works together, any challenge can be addressed. If your solution is perfect in all aspects, it will be adopted by industries in the future, he assured the students.
Dr. Radhakrishnan, Engineering Leader at Walmart India, urged students to display their innovative power before the world. Think, rethink, code, and re-code. You have the ability to solve problems, and when opportunities come in the interest of the nation’s security, make full use of them, he advised.
Dr. Rajan M.A, Principal Scientist at TCS Ltd., remarked that there is no greater power than knowledge and that sustained agility and constant learning are key to achieving excellence.
The programme was attended by Dr. A.G. Gopalakrishna, Director, Nagarjuna Group of Institutions; Dr. Tippeswamy, Principal of NCET; administrative leaders Kishan, Shibu, Dr. Yogesh, Dr. Sarvesh, Dr. Gopinath, Dr. Lohith, Dr. Venkatesh, Dr. Govardhanaswamy, Dr. Mahesh K.K., staff members and students.
