The ongoing ban on safari operations in the Mysuru and Chamarajanagar region has entered its second month, triggering widespread concern among local communities whose livelihoods depend heavily on wildlife tourism. Many say they have no alternative employment options in the region, making the situation even more alarming. Resort owners, homestay operators, and hotel proprietors have joined hands with local traders to appeal to the government for an immediate and practical solution. While they acknowledge the scientific reasons behind the ban, they emphasize that the sudden and prolonged restriction has left hundreds of families struggling for survival. They suggest that the government explore regulated reopening of safaris with enhanced safety protocols, allowing tourism
