Drone Strike Update
Moscow
Russian air defences intercepted or destroyed eight Ukrainian drones over a four-hour period on Saturday evening, the Russian Defence Ministry reported. The drones included three each over the Kursk and Belgorod regions, and two over the Bryansk region, operating between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. GMT) on December 6.
Earlier on the same day, the ministry reported shooting down 11 Ukrainian drones over the same three regions within five hours.
In addition to air defence operations, Russian forces reportedly killed around 1,450 Ukrainian fighters in the past 24 hours in areas of the special military operation. The Russian military also launched a major strike using Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and other long-range precision weapons targeting Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, and port installations supporting Ukraine’s army.
“In response to Ukraine’s attacks on civilian targets, the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with long-range air- and land-based precision weapons, including Kinzhal missiles and UAVs. All designated targets were hit,” the Defence Ministry said.
The strikes reportedly damaged energy and transport facilities, warehouses, and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian army units and foreign mercenaries across 152 districts. Operational-tactical aviation, combat drones, missile forces, and artillery were involved in hitting military and logistic targets used by Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian Battlegroup Center units continued operations in Dimitrov in the Donetsk People’s Republic, improving positions along the front line and destroying encircled Ukrainian forces.
These reports highlight continued escalation and intense military activity in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides engaging in air, missile, and ground operations.
