The Bengaluru North City Corporation carried out a joint inspection on Wednesday after Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda reviewed the ongoing metro and road works along the Outer Ring Road and Bellary Road.
The Minister visited key stretches from Nagawara Junction to Yelahanka and issued several important instructions to speed up the work and reduce traffic problems faced by the public.
At Nagawara Junction, he directed Metro officials to finish the pending work quickly. He asked them to clear extra materials and debris from the site and ensure that the service road is fit and safe for regular traffic. At Veerannapalya Junction, where large amounts of debris were found, he ordered immediate cleaning and instructed that barricades must not block the flow of vehicles.
Near Venkatam Cafe, the Minister noted that both sides of the Outer Ring Road had been closed for work. He instructed the officials to open at least one lane and maintain the stretch in good condition. At Esteem Mall on Bellary Road, he asked NHAI officials to create smooth entry and exit points for the service road and provide required space for bus bays on both sides.
At Kodigehalli Junction, he expressed concern over the inconvenience caused to people since 2021 and directed officials to ensure smoother movement of vehicles. During the Hebbal Road inspection, he instructed the teams from NHAI, Metro and Uttara Nagar Corporation to maintain the road properly for traffic.
The Minister also ordered an intensive cleanliness drive from Hebbal to Bagalur Cross, to be carried out jointly by the Uttara Nagar Palika, NHAI and Metro teams. The inspection was attended by senior officials, including Uttara Nagar Palika Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar, Metro Managing Director Ravi Shankar, BWSSB Chairman Ram Prasat Manohar and representatives from NHAI and BDA.
