Minister for Agriculture, N. Chaluvarayaswamy, stated that over the past two and a half years, the state government has allocated more than ₹10,000 crore for the district’s development. Speaking at a Janspandana program organized by the District Administration and District Panchayat, Chaluvarayaswamy highlighted the success of the Panch Guarantee Schemes, noting that while critics initially opposed them, these initiatives are now recognized at the national level.
Under the Panch Guarantee Schemes, each taluk receives an annual allocation of ₹250 crore, and the schemes will continue in the future, with commitments to maintain them in the next elections. Since April this year, 520 beneficiaries in Koppa Hobli have received ₹1.5 crore under agricultural support programs, while 49,330 farmers across Mandya have benefited from various schemes totaling ₹23.90 crore, with individual subsidies reaching up to ₹50 lakh.
The government has also implemented 1,300 new Pauti accounts, 5,800 old accounts, and 150 Podi registrations, along with scanning 18,310 revenue records and resolving 33,000 pending cases. Efforts include establishing the University of Agricultural Sciences in Mandya, introducing new rice varieties suitable for local conditions, and ensuring procurement of rice and ragi under the minimum support price scheme.
Infrastructure development has been significant, with ₹300–400 crore released for Koppa Hobli, a ₹45 lakh sanction for a new administrative office, and revival of the MySugar Sugar Factory with ₹50 crore funding. Additionally, over four lakh women have received financial support via DBT under schemes like Gruha Lakshmi and Shakti, free electricity under Gruha Jyothi, and funds under Annabhagya and Yuvanidhi.
The minister, along with other officials, inaugurated multiple development projects and distributed documents to beneficiaries, emphasizing the government’s commitment to economic empowerment and comprehensive progress in Mandya.
