Property tax drive ordered in Bengaluru West

The Commissioner directed officers to complete all pending e-Khata applications by weekend, avoid unjust rejections, and resolve technical issues with GBA team to prevent citizen inconvenience


BENGALURU

Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K.V. has asked officials of Zone One, West Municipal Corporation, to speed up property tax collection and clear pending public services without delay. He gave these directions during a review meeting of the revenue department.

The Commissioner told officers to finish all pending e-Khata applications by this weekend. He said no application should be rejected without clear reasons. He stressed that citizens must not suffer due to technical problems or slow processes. Officials shared issues they face with the e-Khata system, and he promised to speak with the GBA technical team to find quick solutions.

On property tax recovery, he ordered all revenue officers to work actively on collecting overdue taxes. He directed that all revision cases be taken up on priority. Demand notices must be issued immediately, and strict steps should be taken against defaulters. In serious cases, closure action on properties may be used, he warned.

The meeting focused on voter list preparation and election readiness. Dr. Rajendra directed officials to complete the draft voter list on time and finalize it without delay. Booth Level Officers will be given training to handle their responsibilities. He made it clear that no private person should interfere in their official duties.

With teachers’ constituency elections coming soon and municipal elections expected anytime, he asked for careful planning of all election work. He said accuracy, fairness and transparency must be maintained at every stage.

Additional Commissioner Manjunatha Swamy, Joint Commissioner Aarti Anand, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rab, and other revenue officials attended the meeting.
