Actor Darshan, accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has now spent 100 days in jail for the second time, yet the trial in his case has not started.
Darshan was earlier granted bail by the Karnataka High Court after spending 100 days in custody. However, the Supreme Court later cancelled his bail, sending him back to jail and directing that the trial be completed quickly. Despite the Supreme Court’s instructions, the case has yet to go to trial.
The charges against him were filed only a few weeks ago, and the public prosecutor had raised objections to the proceedings. Meanwhile, Darshan continues to remain in jail, with no clear timeline for when the trial will commence.
Legal experts say the delay highlights procedural challenges in high-profile cases, where the pace of the judiciary often contrasts with public expectations for quick resolution. Darshan’s prolonged detention without the start of a trial has raised concerns about timely justice and the efficiency of the court system.
Supporters of the actor have expressed frustration over the delay, while the authorities insist that all procedures are being followed according to law. The case continues to attract significant media attention, keeping public focus on the delays in the judicial process.
