Chikkaballapur
In a serious incident at the Government High School in Doddaganjuru village, Chintamani Taluk, Chikkaballapur district, girl students protested against their headmaster for using abusive and inappropriate language towards them. The students alleged that the headmaster made offensive remarks, prompting them to stage a demonstration outside the school.
According to reports, the students boycotted classes and blocked the road in front of the school, expressing their anger with slogans such as “We don’t want such a teacher.” Parents of the students also joined the protest. The students accused the headmaster, identified as Obayya, of making indecent comments when they requested leave, including inappropriate remarks about where they were going or who they were meeting. They further alleged that the headmaster made lewd comments related to their movements, personal privacy, and use of school facilities.
When the issue came to light, Block Education Officer (BEO) Umadevi visited the school to assess the situation. The students reportedly expressed their grievances directly to her, some even shedding tears and falling at her feet to emphasize the seriousness of the matter.
In response to the protest, the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) instructed that the headmaster be placed on compulsory leave immediately. Senior education officials have been informed, and the department has assured that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against the teacher in accordance with established protocols.
