A shocking incident occurred on the Bangalore-Hyderabad Highway near Bagepalli when a Tamil Nadu-origin woman, identified as Ravika, allegedly brandished a knife at two bikers after reckless scooter riding created a traffic hazard.
Ravika, riding a scooter registered in Tamil Nadu, was traveling from Bagepalli toward Bangalore. Witnesses reported that she was zigzagging dangerously across lanes, causing distress to vehicles behind her. Two bikers, Nikhil and Narasimhamaurthy, who were following her, stopped her under a bridge to question her erratic driving.
According to reports, Ravika suddenly pulled out a folded knife and attacked Nikhil, leaving him with a severe hand injury and heavy bleeding. Narasimhamaurthy sustained minor injuries during the incident. In response, Nikhil reportedly fought back. The entire altercation was captured on CCTV from a nearby hotel, showing the chaotic scene. Other motorists and bystanders intervened and managed to restrain Ravika until police arrived.
Chikkaballapur Rural Police have registered a case based on Nikhil’s statement. During initial questioning, Ravika claimed she acted in self-defense, alleging that the bikers had followed her and behaved inappropriately. Police noted that she remained uncooperative at the station and exhibited unusual behavior. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events and assess the charges against her.
Authorities have urged road users to exercise caution and follow traffic rules strictly, highlighting how sudden, reckless driving can escalate into dangerous confrontations.
