Actor Isha Koppikar champions communication in parenting

Actress Isha Koppikar shared her heartfelt thoughts on modern parenting this Children’s Day, explaining how open communication, trust, and emotional awareness guide her journey as a mother, she said she avoids strict, fear-based methods and instead encourages her daughter Rianna to understand her feelings and learn from everyday experiences.

Isha explained that she focuses on confidence, kindness, and emotional strength rather than following traditional expectations. She said she tries to guide her daughter through honest conversations instead of control. When Rianna faces challenges, Isha encourages her to think through the situation, find solutions, and reflect on what she feels, rather than simply following instructions.

The actress shared that every night they talk about their day—the good, the mistakes, and the lessons learned. She believes showing her own flaws helps her daughter see that strength includes honesty, compassion, and the willingness to grow. According to her, parenting is not about perfection but about creating a bond built on trust and understanding.

Speaking about her hopes for Rianna, Isha said she wants her to grow up feeling safe, loved, and free to choose her own path in life. She wishes for her daughter to know her worth and believe she can become anything she dreams of.

Isha welcomed Rianna in July 2014 with her former husband, Timmy Narang. The actress, known for films across several languages, made her debut with the Tamil movie “Kaadhal Kavithai,” which won her the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
