Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has showered praise on Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana after watching the first song Chikiri Chikiri from the upcoming sports drama Peddi. The debut single, composed by A.R. Rahman and sung by Mohit Chauhan, has been trending online for its vibrant energy and rustic vibe.
Taking to X, RGV lauded Ram Charan’s powerful screen presence and the director’s creative vision. The true purpose of every craft in cinema—direction, music, or cinematography—should be to elevate the hero. After a long time, I saw Ram Charan in his most raw, real, and explosive form in the Peddi song Chikiri Chikiri, he wrote.
He also commended director Buchi Babu Sana for keeping the focus firmly on the star instead of relying on large sets or elaborate production. A star shines brightest when stripped of unnecessary glitter, not drowned in massive sets or hundreds of dancers. You put the spotlight where it belongs—on the star himself, RGV added.
The song presents Ram Charan in a rugged, earthy look, performing with unmatched energy that has thrilled his fans.
Peddi is a sports action drama featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. The teaser shows Charan in a muscular avatar, playing cricket and wrestling. The film is slated for release on March 27, 2026, coinciding with Ram Charan’s birthday.
