Lewis Hamilton has expressed support for Ferrari after executive chairman John Elkann publicly criticised the team’s drivers for “talking too much” and lacking focus following a disastrous Brazilian Grand Prix. Both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc failed to finish — Leclerc retiring early after a collision, and Hamilton withdrawing mid-race due to car damage — dropping Ferrari to fourth in the constructors’ standings.
Elkann, speaking at a sponsorship event in Italy, said, “Brazil was a big disappointment… our drivers must focus on driving and talk less.” Hours later, Hamilton softened his tone, posting on Instagram: “It wasn’t the race we wanted, but we will move on. I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up. Not now, not ever.”
