In a successful operation by the Forest Department, a tigress and her three cubs were captured near Kallahalli village in Gundlupet taluk during the early hours of Monday. The big cat had reportedly been attacking cattle in nearby farms and instilling fear among local residents for the past few weeks.
Acting on complaints from villagers, forest officials intensified monitoring using camera traps and successfully located the tigress. The animal was later tranquilised and safely captured along with her cubs. Officials confirmed that all four tigers are in good health and have been relocated to a safer forest zone.
The operation has brought immense relief to farmers and villagers who had been living in fear due to repeated cattle losses. Locals have praised the swift and coordinated efforts of the Forest Department team.
