The grand Bruhath Geethotsava, organized at Sri Krishna Matha until December 7, was inaugurated by His Holiness Sri Vishwaprasannatirtha Pejawar Swamiji in the temple’s royal courtyard. Addressing devotees, the seer emphasized that the Bhagavad Gita is a timeless guide, capable of dispelling ignorance and offering direction in life. He urged everyone to internalize Krishna’s teachings to overcome attachment and perform their duties responsibly, highlighting that Gita’s wisdom serves as a universal guide in all circumstances.
Sri Vishwaprasannatirtha also honored Pejawar Seer with the Shri Rama Seva Durandhara award, recognizing his contributions to spiritual guidance. He praised the life of Sri Sugunendratirtha Swamiji of Parayaaya Puttige Matha, describing him as a living embodiment of Gita’s teachings, guiding the world with its wisdom.
The seer stressed that the Gita is a universal scripture that transcends religion and directs humanity toward righteousness. “Every individual can engage with the Gita, reflect on their inner thoughts, and seek answers through its teachings,” he added.
As part of the celebrations, a grand Gita recitation involving a lakh of voices will take place on November 28, starting at 9:30 AM and concluding at 12:30 PM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Sri Krishna Matha at 12 PM that day, according to Sri Sugunendratirtha.
