CM Calls urgent meeting on VVIP treatment in Parappana Agrahara

Davanagere

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed the media at Davangere heliport regarding reports of luxurious privileges being extended to inmates at Parappana Agrahara prison. He stated that concerned officials were on leave at the time the incidents came to light. A high-level meeting led by the Home Minister has been scheduled for tomorrow to review the matter. Siddaramaiah emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found responsible, and measures will be implemented to ensure such incidents do not recur in the future.

On questions related to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comments that the organization should have been registered during British rule, the Chief Minister said the government has not issued any orders to ban RSS. While associations are required to obtain permission from district authorities, the government will not respond to Bhagwat’s statements.

Regarding taluk and district panchayat elections, Siddaramaiah said these will proceed under court orders. He also addressed concerns raised by sugar factory owners about compliance with government directives, affirming that all owners must follow the orders, and action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

On the topic of crop damage due to excessive rainfall, the CM noted that approximately 11 lakh hectares were affected, and the central government will determine compensation rates to support farmers.

Finally, Siddaramaiah addressed questions on representation for the Valmiki community in the cabinet, stating that the matter will be considered during the next cabinet reshuffle.

This statement reflects the government’s commitment to strict administrative accountability, enforcement of directives, and addressing issues affecting farmers and marginalized communities, while clarifying the position on sensitive social and political matters.
