Chitradurga
A grand event was held at the Murugharajendra Stadium in Chitradurga to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). The celebration marked 50 years of the Board’s dedicated efforts toward preserving the environment and ensuring sustainable industrial growth in Karnataka.
The programme, was jointly organised by the District Administrations of Chitradurga and Shivamogga in association with the Regional Offices of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board in both districts. The event drew participation from government officials, environmental experts, students, and representatives from various industries.
District In-charge Minister D. Sudhakar inaugurated the event and lauded the Board’s five-decade journey in combating pollution and promoting environmental awareness. He highlighted the crucial role of the KSPCB in enforcing environmental laws, monitoring industrial emissions, and implementing eco-friendly policies.
“The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has been a pillar of support in maintaining ecological balance while guiding industries towards sustainable practices. Its work over the past 50 years stands as a testament to the state’s commitment to a cleaner, greener Karnataka,” said Mr. Sudhakar.
As part of the celebration, several awareness programmes, exhibitions, and demonstrations showcasing pollution control technologies were organised. Students and environmental enthusiasts participated in discussions on waste management, air quality improvement, and renewable energy adoption.
Officials from the KSPCB reaffirmed their commitment to advancing green initiatives and strengthening public participation in environmental protection. The event concluded with a pledge to continue collaborative efforts among government bodies, industries, and citizens to safeguard Karnataka’s natural resources for future generations.
