Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has thrilled fans by confirming that the Baahubali universe will return with a new project. Speaking during an interview alongside actors Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, Rajamouli revealed that while Baahubali 3 is planned for the future, an animated film titled Baahubali: The Eternal War is already in the works.
This is not Baahubali 3, but a continuation of that world, Rajamouli said, adding that the teaser of the 3D animated feature would be shown during the intermission of Baahubali: The Epic. The new project, produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, is being made on a massive ₹120-crore budget and has been in development for over two years.
The revelation came as Baahubali: The Epic—a re-cut and reimagined version of Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion—returned to theatres on October 31. The combined 3-hour-45-minute film offers a grand cinematic experience with upgraded visuals and sound, presented in IMAX, Dolby, 4DX, ICE Immersive, and Epic formats.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the re-release has reignited fan excitement for the epic saga. Rajamouli’s announcement has further amplified the buzz, as audiences eagerly await the next chapter from the kingdom of Mahishmati.
While details about Baahubali 3 remain under wraps, Rajamouli assured fans that the story will eventually continue, keeping alive one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated legacies.
