Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit-Nene faced strong criticism from fans after allegedly arriving nearly three hours late to a live show in Canada. Videos from the event show the actress performing to her iconic songs, but many attendees expressed frustration over the delay and the show’s poor organisation.
Social media was flooded with complaints, with users calling the event chaotic and disorganised. Several posts claimed that the show, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., did not start until almost 10:00 p.m. Many fans demanded refunds, accusing the organisers of misrepresentation under consumer protection laws.
One attendee wrote, This was the worst show ever. The advertisement didn’t say she would only chat and dance for seconds. People were yelling for refunds. Another added, She came three hours late and barely performed. The audience’s time was disrespected.
The viral posts sparked a wave of criticism toward both Madhuri and the organisers, with some suggesting formal complaints be filed. Despite the backlash, a section of fans defended the actress, saying she performed gracefully despite possible management lapses. It may have been a coordination issue, one supporter wrote. Real fans would be happy just to see her.
Meanwhile, Madhuri continues to stay active on the professional front, working on projects such as the psychological thriller Mrs. Deshpande, Maa Behan, and an untitled film under Sajid Nadiadwala’s banner.
The controversy, however, has left fans divided over who should take responsibility for the debacle.
