Volunteers Give Garbage Hotspot Complete Makeover

BENGALUR

A once-neglected black spot filled with garbage, debris, and broken furniture on Annasandrapalya Main Road in HAL has been transformed into a vibrant and meaningful public space. Once avoided by pedestrians due to its stench, the spot now stands as a symbol of community transformation and Kannada pride.

On Kannada Rajyotsava, volunteers from Youth for Parivarthan, supported by the Greater Bengaluru Authority and Indian Navy officers, joined hands to reclaim and rejuvenate the area. They cleared heaps of waste, cleaned every corner, and painted colourful murals depicting Karnataka’s rich culture, language, and heritage.

The initiative was more than just a beautification effort — it was a heartfelt tribute to the legends of Karnataka. Each mural and brushstroke celebrates the state’s great contributors, reflecting unity, creativity, and civic pride.

What was once an eyesore now stands as a living canvas of volunteerism and Rajyotsava spirit, inspiring citizens across Bengaluru to take ownership of their surroundings.
